GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

The 600A Blind Flange (BL) is designed to provide a secure and reliable closure for the end of a pipeline, valve, pressure vessel nozzle or other flanged connection. Unlike standard flanges, a blind flange has no central bore, allowing it to completely seal the flow path while maintaining a removable bolted connection.

One of the main advantages of the Blind Flange design is its ability to provide an effective pipeline closure while still allowing future access to the system. When installed with the appropriate gasket and bolting, it creates a strong and dependable seal, while the flange can later be removed when inspection, maintenance, cleaning, system extension or equipment replacement is required. This makes it a particularly practical alternative to permanent welded closures in installations where future access may be necessary.

Blind Flanges are widely used for pipeline termination, temporary or permanent line isolation, equipment blanking and the closure of unused flanged connections. They are especially useful in industrial installations where sections of a piping system may need to be closed during commissioning, maintenance or future network expansion.

Because the flange is subjected to the full internal pressure of the system without the support of a central pipe bore, its robust construction is designed to withstand demanding mechanical and pressure loads. This makes the 600A Blind Flange suitable for a wide variety of industrial piping applications where secure sealing, pressure resistance and operational reliability are essential.

Depending on project requirements, the 600A Blind Flange is available in sizes from approximately 3/8" up to 80", with nominal pressure ratings ranging from PN2.5 bar up to PN100 bar and ASME pressure classes from Class 150 up to Class 1500, depending on the selected size, material, standard and configuration.

A wide selection of flange facing options is available, including Flat Face (FF), Raised Face (RF), Male and Female (MFM), Tongue and Groove (TG) and Ring Type Joint (RJ). This allows the sealing surface to be selected according to the operating pressure, gasket type, mating flange and specific requirements of the piping system.

As part of the 600A flange range, Blind Flanges can be manufactured according to internationally recognized systems including GB, ASME, JIS and DIN standards, providing compatibility with a broad variety of international piping specifications. Applicable manufacturing standards may include HG/T 20592, HG/T 20615, GB/T 9119, JB/T 81, NB/T 47020–NB/T 47027, ASME B16.5, JIS B2238/JIS B2239 and applicable DIN standards, depending on the required dimensions and configuration.

A broad selection of materials can also be supplied to meet different mechanical, temperature and corrosion-resistance requirements, including Q235, A105, 20#, 20G, 16Mn, Q245R, Q345R, S304, S304L, S316, S316L and other alloy materials.

The combination of complete flow isolation, reliable pressure sealing, easy removal for inspection and maintenance, multiple pressure classes, different sealing face configurations and a wide range of international standards and materials makes the 600A Blind Flange a versatile and dependable solution for industrial piping systems.

Flanges can also be customized according to customer drawings and specific project requirements, including dimensions, material, pressure rating, flange facing, drilling pattern and applicable standard.
