GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

The 500A Loose Flanged Tee is a durable and versatile ductile iron fitting designed to create a reliable 90° branch connection in water distribution and pipeline systems. Manufactured from ductile iron EN-GJS-500-7, it offers excellent mechanical strength and long-term performance, making it suitable for demanding applications such as drinking water networks, bulk water storage, process water systems, pump stations, sewage water networks and irrigation projects.

One of the main advantages of the Loose Flanged Tee is its installation flexibility. The loose flanges can rotate independently, allowing the bolt holes to be easily aligned with the mating flanges during assembly. This feature is particularly useful when connecting the tee to existing pipelines, valves, pumps or other equipment where flange orientation may not be perfectly aligned. As a result, installation becomes faster and easier, reducing the need to reposition or force the fitting into place and helping simplify future maintenance operations.

The tee configuration allows the main pipeline to continue while providing a perpendicular branch for connecting a secondary line. This makes the fitting an efficient solution for network extensions, distribution branches, bypass lines, valve connections and pump station layouts. Its combination of a strong ductile iron body and flexible loose flange system provides both structural reliability and practical installation benefits.

For long-term corrosion protection, the fitting is coated with a 250-micron epoxy coating, providing a durable protective barrier for service in water infrastructure environments. The product is also WRAS certified, making it suitable for drinking water applications.

Available in sizes from ND40 up to ND600, the 500A Loose Flanged Tee is designed in accordance with EN 545, while its flange end connections comply with EN 1092-2 PN10/PN16. It is suitable for pressure ratings of 1.0 MPa and 1.6 MPa, with a maximum working pressure of PN16 / 16 bar, and can operate within a temperature range from -10°C to +90°C.
