GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
The 500A Loose Flanged Spigot provides a robust and practical solution for connecting a flanged pipeline or equipment connection to a plain-ended pipe system. Its design combines a loose flange at one end with a smooth spigot end at the other, offering a versatile transition between different connection systems within water infrastructure networks.
Manufactured from high-strength ductile iron EN-GJS-500-7, the fitting offers excellent mechanical resistance, durability and long-term performance, making it suitable for demanding applications such as drinking water networks, bulk water storage, process water systems, pump stations, sewage water networks and irrigation projects.
 
One of its main advantages is the loose flange design. The flange can be rotated during installation, allowing the bolt holes to be easily aligned with the mating flange. This considerably simplifies assembly and is particularly useful when connecting to valves, pumps, fittings or existing flanged equipment where flange orientation may not be perfectly aligned.
By allowing easier flange positioning, the loose flange system helps reduce installation time, avoid unnecessary forcing or repositioning of the fitting and minimize installation stress on the connected pipeline or equipment. It also makes maintenance and future replacement operations more convenient.
The spigot end provides a smooth plain-ended connection suitable for integration with compatible couplings, sockets or other pipeline jointing systems. This makes the fitting particularly useful as a transition piece between flanged components and plain-ended pipework, offering greater flexibility when adapting different parts of a water network.
 
Its compact and simple geometry also makes the Loose Flanged Spigot a practical solution for valve connections, pump station assemblies, pipeline extensions, repair works and network modifications, where a secure flanged connection is required on one side and a plain-ended connection on the other.
Available in a range from DN40 up to DN600, the fitting is designed according to EN 545, with flange end connections according to EN 1092-2 PN10/PN16. A 250-micron epoxy coating provides reliable corrosion protection and contributes to a long service life, while WRAS certification makes the product suitable for drinking water applications.
Designed for working pressures up to PN16 / 16 bar, with pressure ratings of 1.0 MPa and 1.6 MPa and an operating temperature range from -10°C to +90°C, the 500A Loose Flanged Spigot provides a dependable connection solution for a wide variety of water pipeline systems.
